Practice Policies


To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 315-539-9229 and you will be connected to our appointment center.  Our appointment staff is available from 8:00 a.m. until 4:45 p.m..  On Thursday mornings, the appointment center opens at 9:00 a.m.. Patient call volume is highest between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m..  We suggest you try calling after 10 a.m. for non-emergent issues.

Office visits are by appointment only.  If you are planning on having two or more family members seen during an office visit, you need to make an appointment for each individual.  Arriving on time for your scheduled appointment helps our healthcare providers stay on schedule.  If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.  If you are unable to keep an appointment, PLEASE notify the office as soon as possible.  This allows us to give this reserved time to another patient in need of services.  You will be charged a no show fee if you do not call us to cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment.   

Prescriptions and Messages

For your convenience, our practice has a message and prescription answering service.  If you should need refills on your medication, or have routine questions or messages that are not an emergency, you may call 315-539-8868 (24 hours/day and 7 days/week).  Messages will be screened Monday-Friday at 11a.m. and 4p.m.  This is not an emergency service.  It is meant to allow patients to leave routine messages which need to be addressed by a nurse and/or clinician.  If your condition demands immediate response, call our main number 315-539-9229.  You may also request prescription refills by using our online prescription request form.

Certain controlled medications cannot be mailed to you or called into your pharmacy.  These refill requests must be picked up at our office.  Please allow 24 hours for these refill requests to be completed.  Some medications will not be renewed without an appointment first being made with your provider to review both your health status and the other medications you are taking.

If you have been asked to call back in regard to your condition, please do so by 11a.m.  Our staff will determine if it is necessary to make any changes in your plan of care.  A nurse will call you back with further instructions.  Please remember to leave your name and  phone number.


Several insurance companies require a referral from your primary care physician before visiting a specialist.  If a referral is needed, you may use our online referral request form or you can call 315-539-3472 and provide us the following information:
            Name, Date of Birth, Home Phone Number
            Name of Insurance Carrier and Policy ID Number
            Date and Location of Expected Visit
            Nature of Problem
